<p>Knowing this basic fact can help anyone tune an HHO gas generator for maximum gas savings. And it starts with using the most suitable materials to build the electrolyzer housed inside the generator.</p>
<p><strong>Electrolyzers - How to Build in Efficiency</strong></p>
<p>From staggered metal plate, fused metal pipe, to wire coil electrolyzers - there are plenty of options available for electrolyzer designs and materials. And there are equally many methods for optimizing the output and overall fuel savings derived from HHO generators.</p>
<p>The very MOST efficient <em><strong>hho electrolyzers</strong></em> are also combined with additional technologies that tweak MPG gains to maximum - We're talking up to 60% increase in MPG.   If you've been hearing about affordable and readily available hydrogen fuel assist systems, you'll be happy to discover that the HHO generators and electolyzers of today have a whole lot to offer.  But only if they are built to run efficiently.</p>
<p>There are two areas of concern that affect <strong><em>HHO generator efficiency</em></strong>.</p>
<p><strong>1. Heat</strong></p>
<p>The process of electrolysis itself is heat producing. And as the water/electrolytic mixture inside the generator heats during operation, it heats the metal electrolyzer and the wires running to and from the car battery.  And then, guess what...</p>
<p><strong>2. Electric Current 'Runaway'</strong></p>
<p>As a direct result of rising heat, more and more current is drawn from the battery. More heat = more current draw. And more current draw produces even more heat.  Woah! Stop the runaway train!</p>
<p>As you can well imagine, this will result in an uncontrolled amperage draw - called 'Runaway'.</p>
<p><strong>Tips for Controlling Runaway</strong></p>
<p>Runaway:  Begins when the electrolyzer starts to overheat.  The overheating is caused by it drawing too much current (amps) from the battery.  And believe it or not, this starts because of too MUCH conductivity.  The hotter the HHO cell/electrolyzer gets, the more current it draws and it just keeps going until...  MELTDOWN.</p>
<p>This is just ONE reason it's important FUSE your HHO system.  An inline fuse will help to control amperage draw and protect your cell.  However, the right way to limit current draw and control runaway is by controlling the CONDUCTIVITY of the electrolyzer itself.</p>
<p>Water alone is a poor conductor.  So, a catalyst like baking soda is added to the water inside the fuel cell to improve conductivity.  FYI, tap water produces more HHO than distilled water, because tap water has conductive minerals in it. But it's important to note that that the minerals in plain tap water can also erode the electrolyzer anodes and really gunk up your HHO cell.</p>
<p>For our purposes - a consistently high HHO gas output at low heat and current draw - We need to strive for a controlled environment for the most precise control of our HHO fuel cell.  Achieving this level of control means we'll be able to tweak the HHO output for maximum gains.  We can gain more precise control of the HHO cell by controlling conductivity - by the metal most suitable for HHO electrolyzers, and using the best and water/electrolite mixture inside the unit.</p>
<p>We highly recommend using<em><strong> distilled water</strong></em>  to create the most efficient electrolyzer environment.</p>
<p><strong>Electrolyzer Material - Not All Metals Are Created Equal</strong></p>
<p>Forget aluminum as it won't last.  Aluminum corrodes very quickly and can short out an HHO cell.</p>
<p>Steel erodes quickly too.  And steel gunks up the cell with additional minerals which actually PROMOTES runaway.</p>
<p>The best electrolyzer metal to use is <strong>alloy steel</strong>.  Not platinum steel, either.  Remember, we're after efficiency.  And the very BEST choice for an efficient HHO electrolyzer is 316L Stainless.  </p>
<p>All alloy steel will have some surface impurities, and Stainless is no exception.  For this reason, you should 'season' in your your new 316L electrolyzer plates or wires.  To do this, drive your vehicle with the HHO system running for about 20 miles.  Do this 3 times and then change the water out of the HHO unit. This will clean most of the oils and impurities out of the stainless steel.  Factory oils to prevent corrosion make for water muck, so just run the generator as described and change the water.  From then on the water/electrolytic should remain quite clean.  </p>
<p><strong>Is It Really This Easy - KISS (keep it simple stupid) ?</strong></p>
<p>There are many different HHO generator and electrolyzer designs and MORE emerging daily - and each give different output volume under various conditions.  However, with the use of distilled water with 316L stainless steel anodes, you'll be definitely see MPG gains. You can push the gains significantly higher yet by installing O2 sensor spacers, MAP, or EFIE devices.  But overall, these efficient HHO electrolyzers are very simple and straight-forward, once you understand how they work.</p>
<p>If your looking for MORE miles per gallon, INCREASED horsepower and engine performance, and want to blow all the carbon out and clean your engine,  converting your vehicle to an HHO gas hybrid is the way to go.  Plus, the expense to convert to HHO is tax deductable.  How cool is that.</p>
